Jim Ure
Jim Ure is a Salt Lake advertising man whose media history is the stuff of local legend.

As a college student, he was a staff writer for the Salt Lake Tribune, part of a team nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.

Graduating from the University of Utah, he accepted a position as a copy supervisor with the food products division of the biggest advertiser in the world, Procter and Gamble. There he wrote and produced print ads and television commercials for Duncan Hines cake mixes.

Returning to Salt Lake, he became president of Axelsen Advertising Agency, selling that business when it became "too large to be fun anymore." In the 1980s, he founded the Jim Ure Company and vowed to limit the number of clients he took so as to better serve them without having overhead and management costs that have become associated with large agency operations.

Jim is the author of three books.  He was a founding staff member of the Sundance Film Festival and later served as its executive director.  He is a partner in AgriSolutions, an agribusiness marketing, strategic planning and management consulting company.
